Released in 2008, a polycarbonate polarized prescription sunglass lens with the famous Coppertone brand name.
Unlike ordinary polarized sun lenses, Coppertone polarized sun lenses offer more protection from High-Energy Visible (HEV) light. HEV Light is more commonly known as "blue light". By filtering out the blue light spectrum, you have higher color perception, colors remain clear and true, so important visual information won't be hard to see and focus upon.
In other words, Coppertone lenses block harmful UVA & UVB rays, and HEV blue light, without distorting the actual color of what you see. This is a huge advantage for all outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, skiing, sports, working, driving and more.
By blocking HEV blue light, our customers report wearing their Coppertone polarized lenses earlier in the morning at dawn and later in the evening at dusk.
Coppertone lenses better optical clarity and more true color recognition than regular polarized lenses.
Another benefit of blocking HEV blue light is for your eye health. Over time, exposure to the sun's harmful HEV light is a known contributor to many long-term health problems, including cataracts, macular degeneration (most common cause of vision loss in people over 55), premature skin aging and cancer of the skin on the eyelids.
The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends these Coppertone lenses as an effective UV filter for the eyes and surrounding skin. In addition, they meet the American Optical Association (AOA) specifications for blockage of UVA and UVB rays.
Coppertone polycarbonate polarized lenses are available in grey or brown. The lenses have a hint of vermillion color, and provide better optical clarity and more true color recognition than regular polarized lenses.
